Sometimes you just need a track that feels like a literal punch to the jaw to remind you why you liked music in the first place. This is Toifel.

IS TOIFEL A REGULAR ON OUR PLAYLISTS?

Nope. We have just been made acquainted, and we think we will keep him.

TOIFEL. We are not used to seeing him fronting anything. Truth be told, this is our first real introduction, but his press release tells us he is stepping out on his own. This is not that fake "hard" aesthetic that a lot of bands try to sell you, which is boring. This is genuine streetpunk that feels like it is being screamed directly into your face without a muzzle and with the very best of intentions.

We’re looking for boots that can get beer-stained and stuck to the floor, so we can have the very best of times. The album opens up with more energy than a RedBull could ever give you. MONSTER is one of the best opening tracks we’ve heard in a while.

The vocal delivery has this gravelly, unpolished soul to it that makes the "crisp perfection" of modern radio feel like a joke. It is aggressive, sure (as it should be), but there is a hand reaching out of the darkness vibe that actually gives you some hope by the end. The title track is relentless; the drums here are particularly enjoyable.

If we can give you one tip here, it is to skip headphones, go straight for speakers - and we imagine that limited vinyl run will bring a beautiful underlying warmth that only records can bring.

The production is exactly what it needs to be. It is honest. You get that bright, melodic guitar lick, the fast sticks, and the backline is TIGHT. Punk is never supposed to sit in the background, and this doesn’t. Not once is it dull, not once does it fade; every track brings something new, but all tight and cohesive. LASS UNS FLIEGEN is just perfection. And finishing up with ES IST OK is the perfect move that only comes with years of experience.

Do you need to speak German to love this album? Nah. It would probably help with the nuance, but if you’re in it for the love of the music game, this will hit all your punk spots easily.

This is how you do good old fashioned streetpunk without falling into the usual cliches.

Fave tracks: PERSONA NON GRATA - the intro blew our hair back, and left us with half an eyebrow. KINDERAUGEN - it’s uplifting and was where we began.

This is a massive moment for Smith & Miller Records. It marks their 50th vinyl and 25th CD release. The full 12-track solo debut, Für immer euer Feind!, drops today, March 13, 2026. Toifel is delivering a punch against hypocrisy and the arrogance of society. If you are a vinyl nerd (and you know we ARE, so we ordered one), the neon-green marbled version is the one to snag. It is limited to 1,000 hand-numbered copies.

Listen:

Soooo, you can probably tell we enjoy it. We’ve been listening to Kinderaugen for weeks. Waiting for the album.

It is hard to come by a band, or music at all, that calls itself punk but doesn’t feel like it’s a poser. Something that sounds, looks, and feels like it should be.

Toifel, very easily in about three seconds of any track, shows you what punk-rock/streetpunk should sound like. The production is clean, the musicianship is stunning, and the vocal is gravel-filled but still with clarity.

He dropped a steller album, we dropped 5 cups.
