We can honestly say, LIKE LIAM GALLAGHER is unfortunately one of the catchiest tracks we've heard in a minute. Straight from the top, if you enjoy The Dare, Madness or the Sleaford Mods, you'll loveeee the album that's coming in December.
IS LEWCA A REGULAR ON OUR PLAYLISTS?
Is now. LIKE LIAM GALLAGHER is, and there are a couple of tracks from the album, which we've had the honour to listen to that will be.

Before we arrive at the new things, we're looking at his 2023 album. And it blew our minds to find that, it's incredible and we'd never once heard it. BOOMBAP FOR BOOMERS. Standout track for us on that one is QUITE LIKE ME with ELEPHANT MAN. The whole album is so deeply British in styling, throwing back to everything we thought we had lost in the late 90s in terms of music.
But back to LIKE LIAM GALLAGHER.
We're not sure if the song will translate to people who aren't from the UK, though, there are likely diehard Oasis fans all over the world. But then, does it really matter?
When we first saw the plasticine model artwork, one of us actually sighed - were we about to get some AI slop pumping through our speakers? So from the start we'd say don't let that artwork put you off. It even starts with a farty sounding couple of notes. But then it just breaks wide open. It is unfortunately a head bobbing track. The mix, glitch and cuts are so well done.
And, if you've ever had the joy of experiencing the weekend of binge drinking in the UK cities at the weekend, or you live there. The run of boring boring boring, followed by getting shitfaced is an apt description. Also things like calling the bathroom the bog, where the fuck are you, and their mum... couldn't think of anything more perfect.
Here is something from the press release, and it'll be the longest one we have ever included:
After a forced hiatus of 3 years Lewca returns from the brink of death on June 5th with "Like Liam Gallagher", a drunken fuzzy Pop anthem of debauchery & the first single from his upcoming Fourth studio album "innit? (Releases December 4th)
Q&A :
Who are the band members and what do they play?
After being in numerous bands and going through the experience of a promising act falling apart because of a promotion, a birth, or whatever, I decided to take full artistic control and set out on my own under the moniker Lewca. Over the past few years, I have worked on songs with a bunch of different musicians, most of whom I have been in a band with at some point or met on Twitter during lockdown. Overall production and most of the composing are done by partner-in-crime S.O.A.P. a.k.a DJ Sonofapitch.
How and where did you get together?
I started messing around with the idea of a solo project in late 2018. I had met S.O.A.P. a few years prior when we shared the stage at a gig in Paris, and I initially reached out to him to do a remix, then somehow musically we just hit it off and we ended up recording a bunch of tunes together. The first EP was released in December 2020, two more in 2021, then a remix EP, a charity EP, then two albums, "Friday Night Rockstar" in 2022 & "Boombap for Boomers" in 2023... then in 2024 I got ill and went on somewhat of a forced hiatus until now.
What are the band's main influences?
Class A drugs, weed, French wine, Belgian beer, and expensive rum.
Have you played any notable gigs, festivals, or other events? Likewise, radio or TV appearances?
Hmm. I had a tune played on BBC 6, Kaptin Barret (the DJ extraordinaire) rated my album "Boombap for Boomers" album of the year in 2023, I've had a tune on an Official Apple Playlist (ROCK), and there have been quite a few articles, a ton of online radios and podcast interviews and whatnot...
Another notable event was that we recorded a song featuring dancehall legend "Elephant Man", which we managed to get by basically cold calling him drunk :) (the song is called "Quite Like Me" off the Boombap for Boomers album).
Gigs-wise, we've played Amerhurst Arms in Kings Cross, the Beehive in East London, Main d'Oeuvres, and the Peniche Antipode in Paris, and we are set to play at the Maroquinerie in Paris in January next year, which is a pretty big deal for us as it is a pretty famous venue in France and it's a 500-capacity, which is the biggest we have done so far.
Are there any other interesting or amusing happenings
– no matter how small – that the band has been involved with that
would be of interest to those who like your music?
I almost died.
"Innit?"
Can you briefly describe the thinking behind the project?
All my albums are about time passing, I guess, personal doubts and demons, abuse, and dreams that will never come true. It's mixed into 80's-90's sonic references that influenced me & S.O.A.P growing up... Although this one is a little different, I guess, due to the fact that I had a near-death experience, so there are a few songs about that obviously.
Please provide a one- or two-line personal quote that can be attributed to a band member.
"We won't go gentle into that good night, still talking to myself in the morning light, I ain't changed"
We hope that you enjoyed that as much we did. Since LIKE LIAM GALLAGHER has been released, FREIGHT TRAIN has been released. With the same big bouncy club-pop-probably on E feeling, and no lies told in the lyrics.
And, aside from that, FUCKING LIFE, a track from Yann Dulché's new album LA DULCHÉ VITA features Lewca's very enjoyable vocals. A new favorite, because it has a UK garage feel, and the vocal drag is so close to the stop gettin' shot line in Oxide and Neutrino it can't be ignored.
We'd love to be picky about the mix, production, levels, or anything really - but it's clean, crisp, and enjoyable - and that goes for everything we've heard so far. He will be releasing a single a month until December.
Anyway, yeah, we really liked it, innit.
There are points in the album, which we wish we could share with you, that the cadence and styling of John Lydon felt so prominent.
But Lewca slides through different genres like a drunk slipping on beer on a Friday night. We like it. A lot.

4/5
