Before we get into DOG SAY? We need a minute to pay homage to the rest of Bronze Avery’s catalog. It’s a doozy.
IS BRONZE AVERY A REGULAR ON OUR PLAYLISTS?
No. And you know what? That was our mistake.
We weren’t aware of tracks like SCAN AND COPY or HEATWAVE.
We spent some time, and oooooo we’re all in.

Why are we saying genreless? Well, because each track brings something different, what is most apparent is that Bronze isn’t afraid to play with music, just as much as he plays with his vocals. What do we mean by that? This is such a specific lane, where the production stands out technically, and the vocals, switching through emotions, lead the tracks. But you can’t pin it down to one thing.
Accomplished anyway you slice it.
For those unfamiliar with Bronze Avery, here is the short version. Singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, Los Angeles-based, and in 2021, he entered Billboard NXT, a competition designed to find superstar potential in unsigned artists, mentored by his pop idol Charli XCX. He launched into PITCH BLACK, a breakup track anthemic enough to rival Robyn, and won the whole thing.
Billboard cover, music video, studio time, critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, PAPER, and MTV. His second album HEATWAVE followed, hitting 18 million streams. That is the degree of talent walking into DOG SAY? Phew.
DOG SAY dropped today, June 5th. It takes everything that made HEATWAVE work and adds even more fun, flirty, and dirty energy. The low end is doing something very southern and very deliberate, it’s deep and sensual (dominant and fun too)- as it should be when you hear the lyrics. The vocal switches moods on top of it like it costs nothing. Neither one is fighting for space, so it balances great on speakers or headphones.
The press release calls it "candy paint hydraulics" and "dirty southern swagger through a queer-pop lens." Both are accurate and still leave room for a track that will be on repeat because it’s not just either of those things.
The swagger is real, the sensuality is real, and Bronze is not asking anyone for permission on either front. We are here for it. Sign us up!
If this is your first Bronze Avery track, do not stop here. Go to CRASH DESIRE from SOFTMETAL. Then SCAN AND COPY from HEATWAVE. The one that shows you exactly how far his production instincts have come. Between those two, you will know exactly what you are dealing with, and like us, be ready for more.
DOG SAY is a lead single for an unannounced project.
While we do not yet know what that project sounds like.
We are already paying attention.
