LOE

LOE is a singer and songwriter based in Stuttgart, Germany. Known for creating genre-blending music that includes elements of folk pop, indie pop, and bedroom pop, her music is defined by confessional, heartfelt lyrics with a delicate, intimate style. LOE explores themes of coming of age, heartbreak, and love through deeply personal storytelling with a voice that balances vulnerability and strength. Why do we love it? Opens really nicely, gentle piano, which we're a bit of a sucker for anyway. Is it mixed what we'd call perfectly? Maybe not, we have the vocals coming through maybe a touch too loud but we're fine with the soft plosives and breaths we get because it feels more like you're listening to it sung live. Lyrically, very simple, and we're cool with that, as our regular readers know. We're speaking about LATE NIGHTS, and that was where we started.

Moving on to RELEASE, opening with keys again, we ran this one a couple of times, there is a certain feeling captured, and it might seem like something frivolous but actually highly relatable to a lot of people... FIXED DREAM, from the FIREFLIES EP follows the same pattern, keys, vocals, (and the levels). It is here when we feel like this is spoken word over music. Her cadence and delivery isn't sing-song, it is more like poetry sung.

We're really looking at potential when we listen to LOE and we want to say we saw it. In years from now, when she releases a lyrically sharp, cutting, hauntingly beautiful piece of work. We want to say - we told you so.
